The Goal

Create a brand that feels welcoming, clear, and meaningful.

It needed to reflect the message of the church while remaining simple and easy to use across different applications.

The Challenge

The challenge was creating something that feels:

  1. Meaningful, without being overly complex
  2. Timeless, not trendy
  3. Clear, while still carrying depth

It also needed to work across everything from print materials to digital platforms.

My Role & Process

I worked closely with the pastors to understand their vision, values, and the message they wanted the church to communicate.

Because this project was personal, it was important to approach it with care and intention, making sure every decision aligned with the meaning behind the name.

I led the design direction and developed the system from concept to final execution.

Brand Direction

Everything was designed to feel calm, intentional, and inviting. The brand is centered around:

Light and Hope

Clarity and Simplicity

A Sense of Community

Visual Identity System

Logo Design

The logo was designed to reflect the idea of light in a simple and meaningful way.

The goal was to create something timeless and recognizable without relying on overly complex elements.

Magilio and Shelby were used for the logo, with a customized “I” designed to represent the candle, reinforcing the idea of light throughout the identity.

Color

Inspired by themes of light and renewal, the color palette brings warmth and clarity to the brand.

The colors were chosen to feel inviting and approachable, while still providing enough contrast to support different applications.

Typography

The typography system balances clarity with character, keeping the message easy to read while adding visual interest.

Magilio adds a timeless, grounded serif presence, while Helvetica Neue supports clarity and structure across layouts.

For the logo, Magilio is paired with Shelby, with a customized “I” designed to represent the candle, reinforcing the idea of light throughout the identity.

Art Direction

Application in Use

A flexible system designed to work across touchpoints, maintaining consistency while adapting to different uses.

• Print materials (flyers, programs, signage)
• Digital assets (social media, presentations)
• Branded merchandise
• Church communications and outreach materials

The Outcome

The final brand feels clear, meaningful, and welcoming.

It reflects the heart of the church while providing a system that is easy to use and grow over time.
